12 Dec 1794 York County Wills, Manchester Twp, York, PA lists Mary Elizabeth BLECKROTH as decedent; proven 5 Jul 1805 [Mary Elizabeth Bott. Dec 12, 1794. Executor: John Haller. Manchester Township. Child: Barbara. Granddaughter: Catharine Warner parents' names not given] [The will of Mary Elizabeth Bott, nee Bleckroth only adds to the confusion caused by her husband's will. Of the children who survived their father Reinhardt in 1790, Mary Elizabeth's will names only daughter Barbara. As with Reinhardt's will, Mary Catherine, the couples oldest surviving daughter is not named. Unlike Reinhardt's will, that of Mary Elizabeth also fails to mention her son, George. The only child mentioned in the Will of Mary Elizabeth Bott is Barbara. That creates a monumental problem. Barbara pre-deceased her mother by one week less than one year. The will also names a granddaughter, Catherine Warner who may or may not be the same granddaughter named in Reinhardt Bott's will which named a Catherine Wendler. That problem is made greater by the fact no record has been found of a marriage by daughter Barbara, who died as Barbara Bott. Undated records, compiled between 1733 and 1800 of the Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, city of York, York County, Pennsylvania twice list daughter Barbara as a "mother" in baptisms, but these same records fail to reveal the name(s) of the child(ren) or father(s). Except for the executor, John Haller, no other persons are named in Mary Elizabeth's will. Is it possible Catherine Wendler and Catherine Warner are the same person? Is it possible she/they is/are the illegitimate child/children of Barbara Bott]
